Property IDs added to listings

Finally TradeMe has added an ID for each property just like the auction number. This measn you can easily enter and find that property faster. Just note down the Property ID when you view it online, or if you see it on a Real Estate sign in your neighbourhood. A simple yet very effective, idea here.

A note on the relationship between Real Estate Agents and TradeMe:
TradeMe really has been successful in the online propert listings game. Agents have essentially been forced into listings their properties on the site due to buyer pressure. And at $99 to NZ’s largest online audience you are a fool not to have it online.

Lets face it, advertising your rental or house online just beats the pants off any other medium.

I have to ask – when did you see the listing price at $99 – it has been at $199 per listing since Jan 08.

Looking back it went from $49.95 back in June 06 to $199 in the space of 18 months. a 4 fold increase – since then no change – it must only be a matter of time before it goes to $250!

You are so right though the expenditure of property in any other medium is largely a waste of money.

    Hi Alistair.
You are completely correct – the price IS now $199. $99 was still stuck in my head as it was $99 for a good period.

I agree, I can easily see it at $250 mid next year. Its still good value at that level but anything above $250 will start to sound very expensive for a classified ad. Perhaps after that price point sellers will shift solely to the other real estate classified sites! TradeMe must strike a balance between profit and good value for consumers! I have put a link to your blog from ours unedr the links section. Much appreciated if you can do the same :)

    Definitely worth a read!
